Michelle Cerna is a doctoral student specializing in international relations. Her research interests include security studies, civil-military relations, and military organization. Prior to GW, Michelle was a Senior Research Support Associate at the MIT Governance Lab and a Fulbright Fellow to Germany, where she researched the German military's modernization and female servicemember integration efforts. Michelle graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Tufts University, where she earned B.A. degrees in International Relations and German Studies.
