Sverrir Steinsson is a Ph.D. student in the Political Science Department at George Washington University, where he concentrates on international relations and comparative politics. He has diverse research interests across international relations, comparative politics, and organizational theory. These interests include (I) the size of states, state formation, secession and union; (II) digital platforms; and (III) the foreign policies of small states, in particular the Scandinavian states and Iceland.

He has published in Cooperation and Conflict, Foreign Policy Analysis, European Security, and Scandinavian Journal of History, as well as chapters in edited collections for Oxford University Press and Routledge. He has a BA in Political Science and an MA in International Affairs, both from the University of Iceland.
