I am interested in studying political parties, social movements, and various forms of institutional and non-institutional political agency in Arabic speaking countries. My PhD dissertation examines the formation and development of political parties and social movements in Morocco, with a particular interest in language, discourse and ideology. My research has been supported by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius foundation, the American Political Science Association Middle East and North Africa Workshops, the George Washington University (GWU) Institute for Middle East Studies and the GWU Political Science department. My research has thus far been published in the International Journal for Middle East Studies
