Daniel Egel-Weiss

Daniel Egel-Weiss is a part-time faculty member at the George Washington University Department of Political Science who focuses on policy and legislation. He teaches the innovative course "Crafting Novel Policy: AI, Biometrics, and Data Privacy." Drawing on his expertise in law and policy, he employs dynamic methods such as legislative drafting, mock testimony, and simulations to foster critical thinking. The curriculum explores the social, political, and policy implications of emerging technologies.
A Harvard Law School graduate (J.D., 2020), he was Student Body Co-President and earned the Dean’s Award for Community Leadership. Mr. Egel-Weiss holds a B.A. in Political Science from GWU (summa cum laude, 2015).
As Counsel for Policy, Integrity, and Compliance at Major League Baseball, Mr. Egel-Weiss directs the organization's day-to-day State Government Relations. He advises all 150 Major and Minor League Clubs on legal, legislative, and policy developments. His work integrates law, policy, and advocacy to ensure compliance and amplify the benefits of sports in our society.
Mr. Egel-Weiss previously served as Chief of Staff to the Assistant Majority Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives, managing operations and guiding legislation into law amid divided government. He was also previously an Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he represented some of the world's largest companies.
