Dave Richardson is a third-year Ph.D. candidate specializing in American Politics.  His research focuses on veteran representation (descriptive and substantive), Congress, veteran interest groups, and American civil-military relations.  His previous experience includes service as Legislative Fellow for Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA); Legislative Liaison to Congress for the Director of the National Reconnaissance Office; and Commanding Officer of a Navy destroyer, the USS PORTER (DDG 78).  Upon completion of doctoral studies, he will next serve as a Permanent Military Professor in the Political Science Department at the U.S. Naval Academy.
