Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assil is a political scientist and Middle East scholar specializing in geopolitics, regional dynamics, and great-power competition. He is a Professorial Lecturer at George Washington University and a Senior Fellow at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C.

He also has expertise in conflict resolution, grassroots movements, and Track II dialogues. He has held fellowships at Harvard University’s Center for Public Leadership and the Edward S. Mason Program, as well as the Orient Research Centre in Dubai. He has served on various boards, including the Harvard Arab Alumni Association (HAAA) and the Syrian Nonviolence Movement.
 

Al-Assil has testified at the UN and has been published and quoted in a variety of media outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal. He appears regularly on TV stations as a commentator on BBC, CNN, Skynews and AlArabiya, and was a guest lecturer at Harvard University, MIT, and American University.

He is a self-taught abstract artist, exploring the intersections of identity, politics, and social dynamics through art.
 

Al-Assil holds a doctorate of international affairs (DIA) from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, A Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, and a Master of Business Administration from University of Essex.
