Jared Heern

Jared earned a B.A. in Political Science from Truman State University in Missouri where he also gained experience in all three branches of the Missouri Government. During his time with the Missouri government, Jared primarily worked with state energy and utility policy. As a Ph.D. candidate and Policy Studies Endowment Fellow at GW, Jared's research interests include legislative and executive branch politics, partisanship, public opinion/representation, and energy and environmental politics and policy. His dissertation focuses on the relationship between partisanship and the policy decisions of state public utility commissions, and how those policies impact climate change mitigation.
