Dr. Mohammad Ghaedi is a political scientist specializing in the politics and international relations of the Middle East, with a focus on Iran. His research examines how political psychology, identity, and narratives shape conflict, diplomacy, and U.S.–Middle East relations.
He has published in Peace and Conflict: Journal of Peace Psychology and contributed analysis to policy outlets such as the Stimson Center’s Middle East Voices. His current book project explores U.S.–Iran relations through the lens of political psychology.
Before joining GWU in 2022, Dr. Ghaedi taught at Washington State University and was a Visiting Scholar at George Mason University’s Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. A former journalist in Iran, he is also a frequent commentator on Iranian politics and Middle Eastern affairs for international media.
