Akshita is a PhD student with a keen interest in the fragmented approach to addressing transnational crimes and the roles played by international organizations and institutions. Her research focuses on the convergence and divergence of domestic and international anti-trafficking laws and policies, the dynamics of legal and illegal migration and its implications for human trafficking. Additionally, Akshita is intrigued by the complexities of institutionalization in combating trafficking, examining the nuances of power dynamics within organizations and political regimes, which shape policy outcomes.
She received a BA (Hons) in Political Science and Economics from University of Toronto, Canada.
