Adam Dean is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at George Washington University. His research focuses on the political economy of international trade, labor politics, and the socioeconomic determinants of public health. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago, MSc from the London School of Economics, and BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dean has written two books on international trade and labor politics: From Conflict to Coalition (2016) and Opening Up By Cracking Down (2022), both of which were published by Cambridge University Press. He has published more than a dozen articles in journals such as International Studies Quarterly and Health Affairs.
