Sverrir Steinsson is a PhD student in the Political Science Department at George Washington University, where he concentrates on international relations and comparative politics. He studies international security and institutions. He has research projects on state formation; the rise and fall of empires; digital platforms; and the foreign policies of small states.

He has published or is forthcoming in International OrganizationCooperation and Conflict, Foreign Policy AnalysisEuropean Security, and Scandinavian Journal of History, as well as chapters in edited collections for Oxford University Press and Routledge.
